Great Fit Foods

A huge part of getting fit is eating right. You need the right foods in your body to keep yourself going, to have all the nutrition available to make the most of your routine.

Fruits and vegetables are obviously important. But you want to eat a good variety to maximize the benefits. Avocados, for example, have very healthy fats which your body needs. Bananas offer potassium.

Whole grains also matter. They provide complex carbohydrates, which are great for energy. Much better than sugary snacks, which only provide a quick burst.

Then, of course, there are berries. These are a big hit with my kids (surprise, surprise). They provide antioxidents and they’re a generally healthy yet sweet snack.

In terms of meats, chicken is healthier than red meat. Fish is also an excellent selection. Fish offers omega-3 fats that have been getting a lot of attention lately as an important part of eating well.
Milk is excellent at providing calcium to your body. You have the choice of drinking it plain, adding cocoa to it, having a yogurt, cottage cheese or other low sugar option and it can still be good for you.

Believe it or not, eggs are great for you, but in moderation. They do have a lot of cholesterol so you don’t want to have more than one a day, but beyond that they are very good for you. They have iron and lecithin, both of which you need.

Nuts are a wonderful source of protein too. Yes, they have fat in them, but it’s a healthier sort than other foods may offer. They’re also highly portable, so you can take them along when you need a quick snack.

When you want to get fit, focus on foods that will help you to meet your goals. The right foods will help your energy level, boost your brain and make it easier to meet any weight loss goals you may have.
