The Futility of Dieting

If you think about it, it probably will not surprise you to learn that yoyo dieting is unhealthy for you. How bad it is may be something you haven’t recognized. But it has been shown that incorrect dieting can lead to increased odds of heart disease, diabetes and a weakened immune system.

But that does not mean trying to lose weight is hopeless. It doesn’t even mean that you can’t use a diet plan to use weight. What it means is that you need to be more realistic about what you need to do.

The first thing to not do on a diet is give up. If you give up and just go back to your old habits, often enough you will end up putting even more weight on.

Better than a diet is flat out changing your habits. You can use a diet plan as a guide, if you like, but the most important thing to remember is to stick with healthier habits even after you have reached your goal weight. A lifestyle change gets easier as time goes by, and is much better for you in the long run.
