Thinking on Energy Bars
Energy bars hit the scene several years ago and have been extremely popular ever since. People love getting that quick burst of energy in a way they think is healthy.
But some are better for you than others.
Too many have quite a bit of sugar in one form or another, or artificial sweeteners, which many like to avoid on priniciple or because they consider them unhealthy.
You should always check the ingredient list and think about the quality of the ingredients. It is not uncommon for better ones to range about $2 per bar. That’s pricey for a quick snack in some ways, but if you’re getting something that is healthier for you than a candy bar it’s probably a good thing.
Speaking of candy bars, consider that too many energy bars have about the same number of calories and aren’t much healthier. If you aren’t sure about which you should buy, try comparing the nutrition information, including things such as calories, fat and vitamins, of an energy bars to a candy bar. You’ll get a good idea as to what you are getting yourself into.
