Tony Little’s Gazelle
I must admit, there’s only so much home gym equipment I have personally tried. That said, Tony Little’s Gazelle is a definite favorite.
For one thing, it’s just so easy to use. Climb on and how to use it is obvious.
What may not be so obvious are the different ways you can use it. You can push your body forward or back to emphasize different muscle groups. Let go of the handles and let your legs to most of the work. Quit using your leg muscles so much and give your arms the focus.
This is one I loved to use in front of the television. You don’t have to look down at what you’re doing all the time, so you can still focus on favorite shows.
The disadvantage is that it does take up a fair bit of space. My personal suggestion is to see if you can lay out the living room so that it can be behind the sofa, yet still facing the television and still usable. Not all homes can manage this layout, but if you can I really think you’ll improve your odds of actually using this machine regularly.
Another nice thing about the Gazelle is that it’s reasonably priced. You aren’t going to be spending $1000 on this machine. Basic models can be had for around $100. More expensive models can be over $400, and there are a few models between those prices as well.
Any time you buy exercise equipment, I strongly suggest that you think about whether or not you will really use it. Ensure that you have the space for it in the place where you would like to use it. Otherwise it will just clutter your home.
