Exercise in the Sand
Playing in the water isn’t the only way you can exercise at the beach, even if it is one of the most popular ways. But if you aren’t in the mood to get wet or if you’ve just had enough, there’s plenty you can do on the sand.
Running, for example. This is probably best done on sand that is wet enough that you aren’t struggling through it.
Walking is good too. You know how different walking on the sand feels in comparison to walking on a firm surface. It is something of a workout.
Volleyball is also a very popular beach game. You just have to find a place where it can be played. Generally if it’s available there will be nets set up. If you want to do it yourself you may find it challenging sometimes to find enough room to set up your game.
Other games can be played too if there’s room. This can be unusual if you’re at a popular beach in the middle of summer’s heat, but it is possible.
Of course, when the weather is hot you need to make sure that you don’t overheat and that you get enough liquids. Pay attention to what your body needs and know when to take a break. And don’t forget to warm up and cool down.
