I Want a Flat Stomach!!

One of the biggest changes for me in becoming a mother was discovering that my once flat abs just don’t want to go back to where they once were. One natural birth and one C-section can do that to you, I guess.

The usual way to start out is with crunches and other ab exercises. Strengthen the muscles so that they look better.

Since I work at a desk, I’m rather fond of the seated knee lift. I sit up straight, holding the edge of the chair a little in front of my hips. Then I lift my knees up toward my chest. A firm chair is best, and you may be surprised at how hard this can be.

When watching television, an exercise ball is a lot of fun. They require a bit of balancing work as you do your exercises, so more muscles get involved.

But exercise is not enough when belly fat is involved. You need to improve your diet too. That means eating healthier and avoiding too many calories too close to bedtime. Cut out the junk, go for the fresh fruits, vegetables and grains, and don’t forget your aerobic exercises.

Flattening your stomach is tough. But I know I feel great with a flatter stomach, and it’s a worthwhile goal to me.
