Quick Ways to Get More Exercise
Getting more exercise doesn’t just mean going to the gym, buying fancy equipment or anything like that. It can be as simple as changing a few habits.
Let’s take a look at a few things you can do to get more exercise into your regular routine.
- Walk or ride a bicycle to the store or work, anyplace that is within a reasonable distance.
- When you drive, don’t go for the close parking spaces. Head out to the far end of the lot. Similarly, if you take the bus, get off a stop or two early.
- Use the stairs. If you’re going up a really tall building and don’t want to climb 50 flights, take the elevator, then get off a few floors early.
- Use your breaks at work to take a walk. Some companies will prefer that you stay indoors during breaks, but you can generally find a place to walk without disrupting those who are still working.
- If you have kids, head outside and play with them. They will tire you out. Young children in particular love to climb, run and be silly.
- Start a garden. It gets you outside and doing physical work. It also gives you something to be proud of. A vegetable garden can also help encourage you to have healthy eating habits.
- Dance.
Getting more exercise is not all that difficult if you plan for it. It can be fun and very rewarding.
