When Do You Take a Break?
Life can be tough at times. In fact, I’m dealing with that right now. And it’s gotten so that I’ve had to take a break from my fitness routine.
It has to do with more than my grandmother dying yesterday. Of course that’s pretty hard to deal with, but it was also expected to happen soon. Besides, exercise can feel very good when you’re dealing with strong emotions like that.
But add in a wedding (not mine) and a miserable head cold that is sapping all my energy, and I just can’t do it.
I don’t expect to break my routine for more than a few days. But right now exercising wouldn’t make a lot of sense for me. Better to get past the cold and general exhaustion from too much happening at once first.
That’s something you need to consider sometimes. You don’t want to let life events break your routine too often, but sometimes that is the smartest thing you can do. Especially if you’re sick. Take a break and regain your health.
