When the Weight isn’t Dropping Fast Enough
You diet. You exercise. But you just can’t get your weight down as fast as you’d like. What do you do?
First of all, what’s your goal? If you think you can lose a couple pounds a week, think again. You can lose it that fast if it’s just water weight, but for healthy, consistent long term weight loss you should only expect to lose 1/2 to 1 pound per week. Not more.
Yes, it does take months. If you want to lose a “mere” 10 pounds, you can expect it to take more than two months to happen. It could even take more than 4 months.
Losing weight in a healthy way so that you have a better chance of keeping it off means you have to do it slowly. Yes, some people do drop fantastic amounts very quickly, but that is a huge strain on the body and not at all healthy for you.
Go to the grocery store. Pick up a pound of butter. That’s the amount of weight you lost. Really not at all insignificant when you think about it.
