Why Not Walk?
Walking is one of my favorite exercises. You can do it anywhere, at just about any time.
Now that school has started back up, I walk my daughter to school daily. It’s not a fast walk on the way to school since I’m limited by her speed, but on the way back I have more freedom.
Walking is a nice cardiovascular workout, even if you aren’t doing powerwalking. Just step it up a little bit from your usual pace and you will notice a difference without doing the whole powerwalking bit. Or powerwalk. It’s quite effective too.
The right shoes are very important. They should support your feet well.
You can make other activities into a part of your fitness plans. If you’re at the mall, try walking a little faster, and go around the mall more than once. Park an extra distance away. Little things like that can really help.
